Mild Gummy Smiles
A mild gummy smile is fairly common and generally refers to gums that cover less than a quarter of the visible tooth area when someone smiles. Mild gummy smiles could also include single teeth or a few teeth that are affected by excessive gum formation.
Moderate Gummy Smiles
Moderate Gummy Smiles are also reasonably common and include smiles where between a quarter to half of the exposed tooth area is covered by the gums.
Advanced Gummy Smiles
Advanced Gummy Smiles occur where up to three quarters of a persons visible tooth area when smiling is covered by the gums.
Sever Gummy Smiles
A Gummy Smile is said to be severe when almost all a persons tooth area is covered by the gums when smiling. However, even severe gummy smiles are treatable by an experienced dental surgeon.
